Overview​

Spotto cloud insights help you identify opportunities and risks across cost, security, operations, commitments, hybrid benefits, and other areas of your cloud environment. They are designed to make investigation and decision-making faster while keeping your team's knowledge and business context at the center.

What Spotto insights are designed to do​

Spotto brings relevant cloud data together and applies rules, calculations, and analysis to highlight items worth reviewing. Depending on the insight, Spotto may:

  • Identify potential savings or opportunities to use existing benefits more effectively.
  • Highlight security, reliability, governance, or operational concerns.
  • Estimate the possible impact of a recommendation.
  • Provide context and practical next steps for further investigation.

An insight is a useful starting point, not an instruction to make a change.

What to consider when reviewing an insight​

Data scope and freshness​

Insights reflect the data available to Spotto at the time of analysis. Delays, missing permissions, unsupported services, incomplete configuration, or recently changed resources can affect what Spotto can see.

Estimates and assumptions​

Savings, costs, utilization, risk, and benefit estimates may use historical data, published pricing, configured rates, or other assumptions. Actual outcomes can differ because of discounts, taxes, currency conversion, usage changes, contract terms, or implementation choices.

Your environment and business context​

Spotto cannot always see application dependencies, planned projects, internal policies, compliance obligations, performance requirements, or business priorities. These details may make an otherwise reasonable recommendation unsuitable for your environment.

Changes to Azure and other services​

Cloud services, pricing, product terms, APIs, and provider guidance change over time. Confirm current requirements with the relevant provider when a decision depends on them.

Coverage​

Spotto aims to surface useful opportunities and concerns, but an insight does not guarantee that every issue, risk, or saving has been identified. Continue to use the monitoring, security, governance, and review processes appropriate for your organization.

Before taking action​

For changes that affect cost, security, availability, compliance, or contractual commitments:

  1. Confirm that the insight applies to the intended resources, subscriptions, and time period.
  2. Review the supporting evidence and check that the underlying data is current.
  3. Consider dependencies, business requirements, and provider or contract terms.
  4. Test the change where practical and prepare a rollback plan.
  5. Use an appropriately qualified cloud, security, financial, or legal specialist when the decision requires one.

Your organization remains responsible for deciding whether and how to act on Spotto insights. Pairing Spotto's analysis with your team's context generally produces the best result.

Why an insight may change​

Insights can change or disappear as new cloud data arrives, resources are reconfigured, pricing or terms change, or Spotto's analysis improves. Review the latest available insight before acting on an older export, report, or shared recommendation.
